Rides 2016
Thanks go to new WBA Member Donna Mounty for sharing her Everleigh 2016 ride photos!
Our Everleigh Pleasure Ride took place on 24th April 2016
Here is what Rosie, our rides organiser, had to say.
"A total of 33 riders attended, with the sun making a welcome appearance. We had 2 riders from Aylesbury who had been to the previous WBA ride last autumn and had enjoyed it so much that they came again. We also had riders from Bristol and south Hampshire and a 13-year-old girl accompanied by her dad on his mountain bike. Other dog walking support crews enjoyed their time out in the wide open spaces, listening to the larks in full song. There were many kind comments from riders, and it would seem that many of them will be coming to the Savernake Ride on May 15th."
A really wonderful fun ride to start our season.
Thanks to Rosie and the team of helpers and supporters who enabled this event to go ahead. Laying the route, planning the access and parking, rosettes and tabards, H&S, lots to arrange and the time Rosie and her helpers give for free is greatly appreciated by everyone attending and everyone else who looks at the photos and decides to come along to the next fun ride.

Savernake Pleasure Ride 15th May 2016
The turnout on Sunday for our fundraising pleasure ride in Savernake Forest totalled 88, and the day was bright and warm with excellent going, just a little sticky in places. The support committee and very chirpy assistants who enabled the ride to go ahead deserve a BIG THANK you. It was a very smooth and easy ride to take part in.
The routes were either 7 or 14 miles and started from the arboretum at Cadley. The ribbons marked the way which wound around the forest under branches of newly sprouted beech leaves and between clumps of cow parsley and bluebells. The wild garlic was in full throttle, and the sun came out for the day. The longer route took riders past St Katherines and down into the Bedwyns with a couple of miles of quiet lane work and up onto fantastic smooth cantering bridleways back into the forest to re-join the shorter route.
Comments from riders have all been positive, and as a ride experience, it would seem that our steady, no jumping route is well-liked. Suitable for lead rein and walkers, young riders and horses alike.
